POCP President Terry Kemple speaks out to protect children from e-cigarettes. At the December 7, 2022 Hillsborough County Commission (BOCC) meeting, he quoted from Center For Disease Control (CDC) research and statistics saying, "The vast majority of smokers had their first cigarette during their teen years. E-cigarettes are now the most used tobacco products among young people with 1 out of 7 high school students saying they've smoked at least one e-cigarette in the past 30 days."

In speaking to the BOCC, he said, "These statistics are staggering! We should do everything we can to keep retailers who sell these killer products as far away as from students as is legally possible."
